A new story and something cozy.
Each child receives a new book, chosen for their age and what they love to read, and a pair of pajamas in their size. Both are wrapped and delivered in time for Christmas morning.
It’s a small thing. But a new story to read on Christmas Eve, and something soft to wear while you read it, can make the season feel a little brighter. Every nomination is kept confidential, and the gift is always free.
Who it’s for
Children from Pre‑K through sixth grade in the Crosby‑Ironton School District who could use a little extra this Christmas.
Sometimes a child or a family just needs a little more during the season. Whatever the reason, we’d love to help make their Christmas a bit brighter.
Parents and guardians can nominate their own children, and so can teachers, counselors, clergy, neighbors and friends. If a child comes to mind, that’s reason enough.
Nominate a child
The form takes about five minutes. You can nominate your own child, or a child you know.
The nomination form will appear here.
It will ask for:
- The child’s first name, age and grade
- Pajama size, and the kinds of books they enjoy
- A parent or guardian we can reach
- Your name and how you know the family
- Anything that would help us choose well
Only our small volunteer team will see your nomination.
Pickup day with Santa and Mrs. Claus
Gifts are handed out in person at Mixed Company in Crosby, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will be waiting.
December 13th from 3–4:30 p.m.
128 W Main St, Crosby, MN 56441
Each child picks up their own gift. We’ll email every family to let them know a gift is waiting, along with the pickup details, but if you nominate someone, we’d be grateful for your help passing the word along.
The Sweet Dreams Project began in Skowhegan, Maine, in 2016. Last December, Sweet Dreams sent gifts home with hundreds of children. We’re bringing the idea to Minnesota.

If you’d like to help
We’ll need new picture books and chapter books, new pajamas in children’s sizes, and a few willing hands for wrapping in December. Ways to give will be posted here soon.
